SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY

Southern Oregon University or SOU offers a four-year OT program that enables students to achieve their bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. The student to faculty ratio at SOU is 18 to 1. PACIFIC UNIVERSITY

Pacific University in Forest Grove is the only Master's in Occupational Therapy program in Oregon. Upon successful completion of the requirements, students will be eligible to sit for the NBCOT exam. In addition, Pacific University also has an online re-entry program that is designed for OT's who are no longer licensed, due to a lapse. Master's Occupational Therapy program

The Master's OT program was established in the 1980's and it takes 31 months to complete. The curriculum is based on lab work, academic studies and three different levels of fieldwork. The fieldwork experience includes assisting those with mental and development disabilities, providing home health, physical rehabilitation and geriatrics. Graduates of the MOT program are eligible to sit for the nationally certified OT exam known as, the NBCOT (National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapists) and will be eligible for taking the state exam to become registered to practice occupational therapy in the state of Oregon.

Online Occupational Therapy Re-entry Program

The OT Re-entry program at Pacific is designed for OT's who have allowed their license to lapse for three years (or longer). The course is done online with a requirement of 80-hours of supervised fieldwork, in order to pass. The coursework covers terminology, current OT practice and theory.
